VAAC MEMORIAL PRAYER

Again, an Angel of the Lord has visited the ranks of our Veteran Apothecaries Association and taken from us our beloved member. We do not criticize this act of our maker. Rather we pause and give thanks to God for having let us have our friend’s presence among us these many years.

Our calling in this life is just a little different from others. Few are privileged to provide with kindness, the many hours each day that we serve our fellow men and women, not for personal gain, for that is not our aim in life.

All of us know the may trying hours of service that our departed friend gave during life. As a credit to our profession, there are many young men and women today, who were influenced to follow the example set by this concerned health care professional

Pharmacy has lost a tried and true worker, who was devoted to family and respected in the community. To the bereaved family, we say, “You have let us enjoy a fine friend and we thank you”. And now we must take leave, knowing your loved one has gone to a well-earned eternal rest and peace. We ask God to be merciful and grant eternal peace.

We will, as is our custom, annually during the month of his birthday, pause in a moment of silent prayer in memory of our departed member, thus each shall live in our memory, always.

Your beloved’s name will be placed on the Association’s Memorial Plaque in the University of Cincinnati Winkle College of Pharmacy for all students and visitors to see.

Let us now offer Carnations, the flower of our Veteran Apothecaries Association, in assurance that we will someday meet again. May God’s mercy and peace be with you always. Amen.
